About Me
I am a nurse practitioner, healthcare consultant, and wellness coach, who believes that a happy, healthy, and fulfilled life is our birthright. My approach is informed by what Dr. Georgia Ede so beautifully describes as “The Science of Hope”, my own lived experience, and the understanding that true healing comes when we honor the whole person body, mind, heart, and spirit.
¹ “The science of hope” — phrase credited to Dr. Georgia Ede, MD, a pioneer in metabolic psychiatry and nutritional approaches to mental health.
add info about circadian biology and ancestral health
I specialize in helping people heal from sugar addiction, emotional eating, and chronic metabolic and mental health conditions. I guide individuals through personalized lifestyle, mindset, and nutritional shifts to support optimal metabolic health and overall well-being. Together, we explore the deep connections between food, brain chemistry, and mental health—addressing conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar disorder; and the emotional roots of sugar addiction, as well as metabolic and lifestyle-related conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, fatty liver, autoimmune disorders, and more.
Using tools like continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) and Keto-Mojo ketone tracking, we bring data into alignment with intuitive, individualized care. Nutritional therapy, rooted in metabolic science and bioindividual needs, becomes a foundation for balance and long-term change.
But healing is more than what you eat—it’s how you live. I emphasize simple, sustainable practices aligned with our natural circadian rhythms to restore nervous system regulation and support your body’s innate capacity to heal. Clients benefit from trauma-informed care, emotional pattern interruption techniques, and a holistic integrative approach that includes meditation, breath work, vagus nerve activation, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), movement, nature connection, journaling, and creative self-expression. My goal is to foster a sense of wholeness and well-being by addressing the interconnectedness of physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through a combination of metabolic nutritional therapies and other holistic healing modalities as I join you on your journey to optimize your metabolic and mental health.
At the heart of my work is deep listening, presence, and compassion. My goal is to help you reconnect with your body’s wisdom, find peace and freedom with food, and live a gratifying life overflowing with robust health, vitality, resilience, joy, and peace.
“Change the way you look at things, and the things you look at will change.”
— Dr. Wayne Dyer
My practice is informed not only by professional training but also by my own personal transformation. I took Dr. Georgia Ede’s Metabolic Psychiatry: Nutritional and Metabolic Therapies for Mental Health course nearly two years ago, and have since immersed myself in the study of nutritional therapies to optimize mental and metabolic health. And the emerging body of knowledge and science of circadian biology, ancestral health, and their impact on metabolism, hormones, and our overall health and wellbeing. These were game changers—none of which I learned in traditional nursing or nurse practitioner training. I am deeply grateful to mentors and teachers like Dr Georgia Ede, Dr Christopher Palmer, Dr Max Gulhane, Phil Escott, Dr Anthony Chaffee, Dr Ken Berry, Sarah Pugh, and so many others who are leading this paradigm shift toward true healing. In her book, “Change your Diet, Change Your Mind” , Dr Georgia Ede offers what she has coined “The Science of Hope; Hope is on the menu”. And indeed it is. This is my go-to resource on nutritional therapies, and not just for those seeking improved mental health. Her research casts light upon the vital importance of whole real foods, fats and protein, and the connection between dietary choices and improved mental health, metabolism and brain function. And destigmatizes the mainstream narrative that fat and red meat are bad for our health.
Most important is my lived experience. With the help and support of a sugar freedom community, I have been abstinent from sugar and flour since January 1, 2022. And free from ultra processed foods and seed oils since May of 2024; something I once believed would never be possible. It has changed my life. I have experimented with all types of food plans, from vegan, raw food, mostly plant based that included huge green smoothies with protein powders, and “dirty” keto (full of ultra processed packaged keto “treats”. I did juice cleanses, intermittent fasting, and more. I thought that the irritable bowel syndrome I have had since I was a child would be better after I quit sugar, flour, junk foods, and seed oils. I learned that for now it is best for me to be plant-free. I was actually surprised that the severe IBS symptoms significantly decreased when I transitioned toward eating more fatty meat, and less vegetables and fruit. Over about 18 months, I gradually evolved to to a carnivore diet. Since December 2024, I have been 95% carnivore. As a result, my irritable bowel syndrome has significantly improved . The sometimes debilitating brain fog, anxiety, depression, mood swings, and sleep disturbances that weighed me down for years are gone! My metabolic health is so much better, and my type 2 diabetes is reversing. For me, carnivore has been transformative.
Of note, not everyone needs or wants to be on a carnivore diet. It depends on your degree and longevity of metabolic dysregulation, your health conditions, your desired goals and your bio-individual needs. I offer a spectrum of ketogenic metabolic and nutritional therapy food choices from paleo, low carbohydrate high fat, ketogenic, ketovore and carnivore.
My life today looks and feels radically different than it did just a few years ago, and it fills me with so much joy and gratitude. I sleep really well. I am reversing type two diabetes. I have a beautiful sense of wellbeing. I have learned how to regulate and manage my emotions without using substances. I am free of food cravings and binges. And I have peace and freedom with food. It is from this place of lived healing and professional experience that I now help others find peace and freedom with food, reclaim their health, and live the vibrant life they deserve.
